URANIA (Isili, Sardegna) – Parziale restyling

urania 1

In the last few months after the lockdown I have been busy re-bolting the right side of the Urania crag in Isili. This is the area characterized by the large holes that gave the cliff its name. Here are the “easier” routes of the cliff and, in order to avoid the initial roof and create a heating zone, in the nineties we had built some starting walls. Still make an initial pulling movement but generally on good holds.

The restyling that was promoted by the Municipality of Isili with regards to the material (stainless steel glue bolts) concerned these routes and the consolidation of the starting walls. I also completely re-bolted Wonderland and changed Raga’s belay.

1 – ICOZOR (6b +) – 22m bolted by Carlo Abis and Franco Murgia, January 1998 – rebolted, new start, new belay

2 – KERMIT TOM (6b +) – 20m bolted by J. Gerhardt / T. Junker, March 1995 – route unchanged, resin-coated plaques in good condition, unreliable belay

3 – ZIGURRAT (6b) – 17m bolted by Maurizio Oviglia in February 1995 – all the first part and the belay bolted again

4 – SOMMERMORGEN M.T.B. (6c) – 17m – bolted by J. Gerhardt / T. Junker, March 1995 – completely re-bolted

5 – VOOM! (6c) – 17m – bolted by Maurizio Oviglia and Simone Sarti, November 1998 – completely rebolted, new start, belay check

6 – OFF TOPIC (6c +) – 20m – bolted by Maurizio Oviglia in November 1998 – entire first part rebolted
